NTPC TO SET UP AN ENGG. COLLEGE IN H.P.

There are lot Pvt. Universities  & engg. Colleges in Himachal Pradesh but still the students look to the planes for quality tech. education. But there is good news for the H.P. students as the state-owned National Thermal Power Corp (NTPC) and the Himachal Pradesh government RECENTLY  entered into a pact to jointly set up an engineering college in the state, said an official statement.

 

A memorandum of understanding was signed for setting up the college in Bilaspur town at the cost of Rs.100 crore, said the statement quoting Chief Secretary Rajwant Sandhu.

 

The NTPC, which is setting up the 800 MW Kol Dam hydropower project near Bilaspur, some 120 km from Shimla, will contribute Rs.37.5 crore for the college, it said, adding that construction work would start soon.
